Sergi López has been entertaining audiences with his singular style of acting for over three decades. Born in Vilanova i la Geltrú, a coastal town in Catalonia, Spain, on December 22, 1965, López’s passion for acting started at a young age. He attended the Theatre Institute of Barcelona, where he honed his acting skills before making his screen debut in 1986 with the movie “The Death of Mikel,” which won the Best Basque Film Award.

Another notable role for López was in the French movie “Dirty Pretty Things” (2002). In it, he played the villainous character of Sneaky, a man who runs a black-market organ trading ring. His performance in this tense thriller impressed audiences and showcased his ability to dive into complex character roles.
López’s versatility as an actor has also led him to perform in different genres, such as horror. He played the role of Captain Vidal, one of the most iconic villains in recent cinema history, in Guillermo del Toro’s dark fairy tale “Pan’s Labyrinth” (2006). The role brought López international recognition and solidified his reputation as a talented actor in Hollywood.
More recently, López has appeared in several TV series, including “The Returned,” “Merlí,” and “The Hockey Girls.” He also starred in the comedy-drama movie “The Mystery of Henri Pick” (2019), which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
